all fabric glue used up, need a break , got to go to real work tomorrow

first purse

hmm
a bit wonky as failed to line up hinges with side seams accurately

also got fabric glue everywhere and was mid glueing when had to get the door to the gas engineer, agh!

quilt block adapted

Got asked to make a block for a signature quilt for my quilting NYC aunt
Started this one, then found out it wasn't the colours she needed
Adapted it into a bound block which is now functioning as a candle mat!

used  a bit of free motion on it to keep my hand in

stands up well, glad I chose a plain lining as thinks it works better against fancy exterior fabric
really went to town with inside pocket and magnetic snaps

only fault was making the handle loops a little big for the brass fittings
but we can't all be perfect eh?

bucket tote with button and loop closure

first attempt on reversible bucket tote from  Lisa Lam's bag making bible
popped off to john lewis and found a fabric SALE, yeh. The closure took me about 4 hours to make last night, but its all a steep learning curve with bag making, Still can't cope with bias binding!
bought a few pastels prints for purses and summery projects

lovely evening spent wandering around city of  london with Robyn trying to find the gherkin and soaking up the sunshine beating down on the tourists. London is so lovely in the sunshine!

quick drawstring project

followed great video on you tube and made this in less than an hour
however as I sewed right side to wrong side fabrics, needed another hour to redo it!

also managed to attach a closure to bucket bag I posted yesterday, used iron on velcro  trimmed to cut corners off, this hopefully prevents the velcro pulling off at the edges when the bag is used . Took it on a little outing this evening to try it out.

I used a remnant of upholstery fabric my mother gave me, a lovely pastel print

daughter busy making papier mache heart for PE project ( ? )

so a good  creative day all round
