paper pieced silk star

Victoria gave me a lovely set of silk fat quarters....autumn colours
I tried them out with this star today, which is paper pieced from a free carol doak template
The silk was quite fragile to deal with, maybe I should have interfaced it before cutting?

any advice?

  1. Veilene Silky Soft, or extremely light weight fusable interfacing will stop it fraying :)

  2. Yep... use the fusible interfacing I sent you home with...they will work much better... it looks like you did GREAT with it though! It's GORGEOUS!!!

  3. I used the interfacing V , but only after making the star, should I have used it before cutting pieces out ? thanks for your experience ladies

  4. It looks fabulous!! But yes, you should have used the interfacing first for sure. Definitely cuts down the fraying to virtually nothing!
